Rear Admiral Steve Branham, U.S. Coast Guard (retired) is one of three co-founders of 3ethos (www.3ethos.com). 3ethos is dedicated to helping leaders hone their ability to inspire and their capacity to serve as stewards in critical decision-making roles. Immediately prior to the founding of 3ethos, Rear Admiral Branham worked in corporate senior executive positions in the private sector.
Rear Admiral Branham served a thirty-seven year career with the U. S. Coast Guard. Prior to his retirement from the Coast Guard in July 2010, Rear Admiral Branham served as Commander Seventh Coast Guard District headquartered in Miami, Florida. The District is served by more than 11,000 Coast Guard men and women and its responsibilities include all Coast Guard operations in the Southeast region of the United States, the Caribbean Sea, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In his immediate prior assignment, he served as the Coast Guard’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for all aspects of the Coast Guard’s $10 billion budget. Rear Admiral Branham also served six 2-year tours afloat, including 4 tours in command of cutters ranging in size from 95 to 378 feet working in the Pacific, Atlantic, Caribbean and Great Lakes regions.
Rear Admiral Branham is a 1977 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering. He was awarded a master’s degree in Business Administration by Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1987 and a master’s degree in National Security Strategy by the National War College, Washington, DC in 1999.
Rear Admiral Branham currently serves on the Suncoast Blood Bank Board of Directors; as Chairman, Longboat Key Pension Fund Board of Directors; Vice Chairman, Sarasota Yacht Club Charitable Foundation Board of Directors; and is a member of the Longboat Key Kiwanis Club, Longboat Key Republican Club, Longboat Key Garden Club, and Sarasota Tiger Bay Club.
